Bio

Dr. Sonia Jauhar completed her training in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York. Board certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine in 2006, Dr. Jauhar is passionate about the practice of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology with a special interest in obesity medicine and metabolic syndrome.

During her training Dr. Jauhar participated in early clinical trials of various anti-obesity medications under former Obesity Society President Dr. Xavier Pi-Sunyer—a leader in obesity medicine since well before the field had a name.

She obtained her M.D. from The George Washington University School of Medicine and her B.A. in English and American Literature from Brown University.
